Mixed Fortunes for Renault Drivers

Italian Jarno Trulli was pleased with his seventh position for the Renault team in qualifying for the British Grand Prix, and was looking to score some points in Sunday's race.

Italian Jarno Trulli was pleased with his seventh position for the Renault team in qualifying for the British Grand Prix, and was looking to score some points in Sunday's race.

"It was a good qualifying session after a difficult day, during which we struggled with the set-up of the car," said Trulli. "We worked on the problems with the front end, and definitely solved most of them for qualifying.

"The car didn't feel too bad and I'm pleased to be seventh, which means I should be able to score points tomorrow."

Teammate Jenson Button did not enjoy the same kind of luck on Saturday, the Briton suffering an engine blow-up during his first attempt. Button was forced to use the spare Renault, which didn't incorporate a new aerodynamic package or the qualifying spec engine.

The young Briton finished down in a disappointing 12th position and from there he predicted a tough Grand Prix tomorrow.

"It's always disappointing to qualify twelfth, and even more so to do it here at Silverstone," Button said. "The guys did a great job to get the T-car ready, but it was always going to be difficult because of the differences between the two cars.

"Even though we worked on the balance of the car, we didn't find the right set-up. It's going to be a tough day tomorrow."
