Team boss Eddie Jordan has warned his drivers and the rest of the Formula One grid to keep their cool and avoid another first corner pile-up in Malaysia this weekend.
Jordan admitted that although the crash at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix had enabled the likes of Minardi's Mark Webber and Jaguar's Eddie Irvine to claim unexpected points it was bad for the reputation of the sport and should not be repeated.
"That big accident wiped out eight cars and wrecked the race as pure spectacle," Jordan said. "It also cost us and other teams a vast amount of money. I'm sure the fans want to see an exciting race with all 22 cars not just half the field."
Jordan lost his number one driver Giancarlo Fisichella in the first corner carnage two weeks ago and he said that he hoped there would be no repeat despite temperatures of up to 51 degrees this time around.
"He was smack in the middle of it all and there was no way that he could escape from it," Jordan said. "It was one of those things and it makes you determined to make sure it does not happen again."
