Jordan Hopes Pantano Will be Back 'Soon'

Team chief Eddie Jordan is hoping Giorgio Pantano will be back in action "as soon as possible" after missing both of Friday's practice sessions for the Canadian Grand Prix.

Team chief Eddie Jordan is hoping Giorgio Pantano will be back in action "as soon as possible" after missing both of Friday's practice sessions for the Canadian Grand Prix.

Italian Pantano could miss out on the Canadian Grand Prix after a management dispute prevented the Jordan driver taking to the track today.

A team source said the driver's father was in dispute with Pantano's management and a payment to Jordan had been frozen while the matter was resolved. Jordan claimed the team were supporting Pantano but did not say if the Italian would be racing this weekend.

"A personal matter has arisen which demanded Giorgio's attention away from the circuit today so unfortunately he has not been able to take part in free practice," Jordan said in a statement.

"The team is supporting him in every way it can and we hope that he will back as soon as possible."

The team's test driver, German Timo Glock, took part in practice with compatriot and regular race driver Nick Heidfeld. Glock could stand in for Pantano if the dispute is not resolved before Saturday qualifying.
