Jordan disappointed with its form

Climbing temperatures and a loss of grip are blamed for Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralph Firman qualifing only 12th and 16th respectively for tomorrow's Monaco Grand Prix

The team's drivers, like fellow Bridgestone users Ferrari, seemed to suffer as eever more rubber was laid down on the racing line, losing grip rather than finding it.

Director of Race and Test Engineering Gary Anderson told us why: "I'm disappointed with our qualifying positions. It all fell apart a bit when it got hotter and we lost a lot of grip. We have experienced this all year and it's something that we've got to chase down. In reality, we have to wait until tomorrow and see how that strategies all work out. We've done what we think is reasonable for the race."

After lapping 12th fastest in 1m16.967s, Fisichella said: "On Thursday, our performance wasn't too bad. I was expecting to be in the top-eight today so, naturally, I'm a little bit disappointed. We lost a lot of grip in the qualifying session and the car was very nervous. Because of that, I made quite a few mistakes."

Firman was caught out by his car's handling, as he explained: "I had a bit too much understeer towards the end of the lap, but things were looking relatively good until then. I'm looking forward to the race as I've really taken to the circuit here and am quite happy wityh how it's going. I'll push hard tomorrow, try not to touch the walls and hope to score some points." His lap time was 1m17.452s.
