I Should Have Won, Says Coulthard

Scot David Coulthard has angrily claimed that he should be the rightful winner of the Brazilian Grand Prix after picking holes in the rulebook that handed McLaren-Mercedes teammate Kimi Raikkonen the victory.

Scot David Coulthard has angrily claimed that he should be the rightful winner of the Brazilian Grand Prix after picking holes in the rulebook that handed McLaren-Mercedes teammate Kimi Raikkonen the victory.

Coulthard lost the lead to Raikkonen when he pitted for his final fuel stop of the race at the end of lap 53 and was classified fourth when the event was stopped on lap 55 following Fernando Alonso's crash.

The results were taken from when Raikkonen crossed the line on lap 53 and Coulthard admitted he was "really pissed off" that his pit stop had not been taken into account in the results.

"I'd done my final stop of the race and I know the three guys in front of me all had to come in again if the race had not been stopped," said Coulthard. "I believe I have more claim on that victory than other people.

"I am going away from here without a Grand Prix win that I worked hard for. The record books will show that I finished fourth and that I am 11 points down in the Championship."

Raikkonen leads the title race with 26 points after being handed victory at Interlagos to add to his hard-earned debut win at the Malaysian Grand Prix two weeks ago.
