Japanese Giant Honda is aiming to achieve next season its first Grand Prix win since its return to Formula One, admitted the company's boss Takeo Fukui.
Honda, who returned to Formula One with the BAR team last season after an absence of seven years, will supply engines both to the Brackley-based team and to Jordan Grand Prix in 2001.
After finishing in fifth place in the Constructors' Championship in 2000 with BAR, Fukui admitted his company wants at least one victory in 2001.
"We want to win one, at least," Fukui said. "I should hope we win one, now that we have four drivers. Maybe the year after that, we'll be able to sweep the podium."
Fukui added he was satisfied with BAR's progress last season, scoring 20 points a year after they finished in last place in the championship.
"I thought BAR learned a great deal. So looking at it like that, you could say the team had a fruitful year. Judging by general, average standards, BAR made huge progress. It ended up where it did all the way from last place. The people at BAR are very happy."
Honda is one of the most successful engine manufactures with a total of 71 wins.
