Hill looks to recover lost form
In a frank review of the year, Hill compared himself to disaster-prone cartoon character Wile E Coyote, because of his season of misfortunes
Hill has only finished twice in the points in 10 races and collected five points while team-mate Heinz-Harald Frentzen has amassed 33.
'I feel like I have gone from Roadrunner to the Wile E. Coyote,' he admitted, referring to the cartoon character who sees all his plans backfire painfully.
'Nothing I do seems to work. It has been very, very frustrating this season.
'I feel like I am not in control of the car. If I could control the car everything else would be alright.
'It has been tough to bear and I have lost my temper a few times. But I wouldn't be a racing driver if I didn't have that aggression,' he said.
Hill praised his long-suffering team for standing by him despite a results tally which amounts to one fourth place and one fifth place since the start of the season.
'I must say I have a lot of understanding from the team and a lot of support from the team, and the last thing I want to do is fuel any perception that there is any grievance between the driver and the team. There is not.
'I have tried very hard to limit what I say about events. Consequently, I have left myself a bit exposed to conjecture and that's hard to bear when it is inaccurate.
'I am doing my very best and sooner or later my luck has got to change I am doing my best to do what I can for Eddie and the team.
'Things changed around last season in the most dramatic way. The last part of the season bore no comparison to the first half of the season.'
He admitted he has not delivered on the teams expectations.
'I have only managed to produce a minimum number of points compared to what Heinz has managed to do.
'I do feel that I have not delivered and that makes it awkward when you know when you have not fulfilled your potential.
'I have always put a lot of store in realising the very best performance that I can muster and I would say it has been quite a disappointing year, not only because I have had a lot of bad luck, but because when I have had opportunities I have not done as well as I would have hoped.
'I think there is no reason why I cannot reproduce the form that I know I am capable of and I just have to try and keep pushing on.'
