Heidfeld sure more to come from F1.08

Nick Heidfeld is convinced his BMW Sauber team will make significant more progress with their F1.08 car before the start of the season in Melbourne

The team endured a difficult first test with the new car, with balance issues hindering their programme.

BMW have been working hard since then and both Heidfeld and teammate Robert Kubica have been happier with the F1.08's handling.

Heidfeld believes there is still more to come from the car.

"It feels a lot better than at the very first test," Heidfeld told autosport.com during testing at Jerez.

"We are making steady progress day by day. In Valencia it was not good, but that's also because we didn't have some of the new parts, so I think it's only more fair to look only at Barcelona and Jerez.

"I think it's good that we learned a lot and have a lot of ideas on how to improve the car and I hope that before the first race we improve it further.

"We still learn and understand a lot more about the car each day so I'm sure that we can make big step forwards until the first race and hopefully over the season as well.

"I really believe in its potential. If you look at how much we have improved from the first test to here I really believe there's more potential," he added.
