Hakkinen guns for Malaysian revenge

The Finn, who saw his title pass to the German 12 days ago in Japan, said he wants to make up for the disappointment by ending the year with victory in Malaysia.

But he acknowledged it will be a tall order because Ferrari wants to add the constructors' championship to its driver's title - and Schumacher has said nothing less than victory will do.

The odds are against McLaren because Ferrari have a 13-point lead and need just one car in the top four to take the team's title too this weekend in Malaysia.

"I want to finish this race on top to make up for losing my world title to Schumacher," said the Finn, who qualified fourth behind an all-Maranello front row and his team mate David Coulthard last year, and finished third behind the two Ferraris.

"It's going to be pretty close. The Ferraris have shown they can be competitive here from what happened last year."

The Finn made a joke of reports that he had planned to quit at the end of the season if he had retained his title.

"If I had won it three times in a row I would definitely have stopped," he quipped...

"Actually I have the motivation to still continue in the future, even if I would have won."
