Glock is third Jordan driver
German Timo Glock has signed as Jordan's third driver for this season. The Formula 3 graduate will run for the team during Friday test sessions at all Formula 1 races this year
Glock made his F1 test debut for Jordan at Barcelona over the winter, and also ran for the team at Silverstone. He joins race drivers Nick Heidfeld and Giorgio Pantano in the team's 2004 line-up.
"I'm very happy and proud that I can be part of Jordan Ford with a place in Formula 1 for the 2004 season," said Glock. "I thank the Jordan technical staff who made it possible for me to give a good performance at the Barcelona and Silverstone testing sessions recently. We have worked together successfully already and I'm looking forward to a fantastic time with them this year."
Team boss Eddie Jordan added: "Timo Glock is one of the most promising young driving talents in Germany at the moment and I'm delighted that we are able to offer him a regular F1 testing role. He's come up through the junior categories quickly and this will give him an invaluable opportunity to learn every Grand Prix circuit on the calendar. It's a perfect training ground and will also help the team in terms of having another car's data to assist with our preparation for each race.
"Timo has really impressed our engineers with his testing feedback and we are now hoping to guide him through this next stage of his career with the ultimate aim for him to become a Grand Prix driver of the future."
After rising through the German Formula BMW championship, Glock won 'rookie of the year' honours in German F3 in 2002. He moved into the F3 Euroseries last season, taking three wins on his way to fifth in the championship.
