Frentzen Feeling Stronger than Ever

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen believes he is driving better than ever this year, his tenth season in Formula One racing.

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen believes he is driving better than ever this year, his tenth season in Formula One racing.

"I'm not as good as ever, I'm better than ever," Frentzen told Autosport magazine. "I believe I have the experience and understanding of the car that makes me better than ever now. I am also as motivated as ever."

35-year old Frentzen, the third oldest driver of the current grid behind Jaguar's Eddie Irvine and Toyota's Mika Salo, is enjoying a strong season with the Arrows team after a torrid end of 2001 with the now extinct Prost team.

Frentzen was fired from Jordan Grand Prix before last year's German Grand Prix, and eventually landed a drive with Prost before joining Arrows this season. With the Cosworth-powered car, Frentzen has scored two points so far in seven races, finishing sixth in Spain and Monaco.

Driving for the Jordan team, with who he scored two Grand Prix wins in 1999, Frentzen was forced to miss last year's Canadian Grand Prix after an accident in practice. This weekend he is hoping to make up for last year's disappointment.

"Last year was quite a tough weekend for me," the German added. "I had an accident on the Friday which left me quite sore, so I decided it would be best for me to miss the race to rest.

"Nevertheless, we go to Montreal with two points now so it is important to keep the hard work up - we need to take every opportunity we get to show the car is getting better and better."
