Fisichella Satisfied Despite Point-Less Race

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella was satisfied with his performance at Sunday's British Grand Prix despite failing to score any points for the Jordan team.

Fisichella had endured a very tough qualifying on Saturday, and had to take the start for today's race down in 17th position. However, the Roman charged hard in difficult conditions and was able to climb up to seventh place, just outside the point-scoring positions.

Despite a fruitless race, the Jordan driver was quite pleased with the result and blamed his poor qualifying performance for missing out on a top six finish.

"Seventh place is alright," the Italian said. "It would have been fantastic to score points today. I drove well, however with hard dry tyres I had low grip levels, it was slippery and the car was nervous.

"It was not easy but I did my best and the team did very well too. Starting from 17th today was our problem."

Fisichella's teammate Takuma Sato retired from the race on lap 51, his Honda engine blowing up in spectacular fashion.
