Ferrari use free Friday for Fiorano test
Ferrari has made its usual trip to Fiorano on the free Friday of the Monaco Grand Prix to make last minute adjustments and practice Michael Schumacher's race starts before qualifying tomorrow (Saturday)
While the rest of the teams use the Friday as a welcome day off, Schumacher shook down a fourth F1-2000 chassis which will be used as Barrichello's spare car for Sunday's race.
Schumacher covered a total of nine laps on the main circuit and eleven on the shorter version. The German also did seven practice starts despite having defended accusations that he makes too many poor starts to Grands Prix (see Autosport 01/06/00).
Schumacher has come under fire recently for blocking opponents after making poor getaways at the San Marino, Spanish and British GPs. He is confident that he can make it onto the front row of the grid for the race, but will need to be quick off the line regardless if he is to be first into the Ste Devote corner.
