Ferrari Duo Quickest at Barcelona

Ferrari drivers Luca Badoer and Michael Schumacher finished on top of the times in testing at the Barcelona circuit in Spain.

Ferrari drivers Luca Badoer and Michael Schumacher finished on top of the times in testing at the Barcelona circuit in Spain.

Both Badoer and Schumacher, along with Sauber's Felipe Massa, joined the McLaren team at the Spanish circuit after the Mercedes-powered squad worked alone since Monday, testing their new MP4-20 car.

Badoer was the quickest man on track with a best time of 1:15.889, although the Italian drove the F2004 car while the other three men where working with 2005-spec machines. Schumacher was at the wheel of the F2004M with which Ferrari plan to compete in the first races of the season.

Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya was third fastest in the McLaren, which he has been testing since Thursday after taking over from teammate Kimi Raikkonen. Montoya managed a total of 72 laps and was involved in an incident when he ran over two mechanics while braking in the pitlane.

Massa continued putting miles in Sauber's C24 car, covering 91 laps on his way to the slowest time of the day.

McLaren have completed their work at Barcelona, while Ferrari and Sauber will continue testing over the weekend.
