De la Rosa: New Sauber a good start
Pedro de la Rosa declared himself pleased with the BMW Sauber's first run in testing at Valencia today
The 38-year-old Spaniard ended the day second fastest, just two tenths behind Felipe Massa's Ferrari.
Although he refused to read too much into testing times, de la Rosa is confident that the Sauber is a good base.
"It was very good," he said. "The first day is always an interesting one, but it is not a day to take any conclusions from the results.
"I'm happy about the fact that the car is easy to drive and stable through the corners, there is nothing upsetting the car balance. It was pretty stable, the car had a good base.
"There are always things to change, but it's a start and I feel we are in the right position. Laptimes, with the fuel tanks we are running... it's really difficult to read anything into that."
Kamui Kobayashi will take over behind the wheel of the BMW Sauber tomorrow.
