De la Rosa Hopes for Higher Temperatures

Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa has warned that his Jaguar team will struggle in Saturday's qualifying unless the track temperatures rise significantly.

With track temperatures of around 25 degrees Celsius at the slippery Hungaroring circuit, the sessions, especially in the morning, were dominated by the Bridgestone runners. Things improved for the Michelin-shod cars in the afternoon, and de la Rosa managed to set the ninth quickest time.

However, the Jaguar driver said that unless the temperatures are higher in qualifying, they will struggle to find a competitive pace.

"We got through a lot of work today, especially on the set-up which has changed considerably over the two sessions," said de la Rosa. "Because of this, the car seems to have picked up more grip, but there is still more time left to extract.

"I am not entirely satisfied with our set-up and it is difficult to make proper judgements given how slippery the track is â€" particularly around turn eleven where many drivers have crashed this morning.

"On today's form, one has to say that qualifying will be very tough unless the track temperature rises significantly."

De la Rosa's teammate Eddie Irvine completed a promising day for the Milton Keynes team, posting the 13th quickest time.
