Coulthard's Win Good for F1, Says Frentzen

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen believes that David Coulthard's win in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix has made the Championship battle more exciting - despite Michael Schumacher extending his lead.

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen believes that David Coulthard's win in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix has made the Championship battle more exciting - despite Michael Schumacher extending his lead.

Four-time World Champion Schumacher extended his advantage in the drivers' standings with his second place finish as he moved 33 points clear of Williams pair Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher.

But Frentzen claimed that Coulthard's victory in Monte Carlo, which ended Schumacher four-race winning run, will bring excitement back to the sport after fears it had been turned into a precession.

"Certainly it is more exciting for the Championship that David won the race and Michael was second," Frentzen said. "It certainly makes it more interesting and that is good for the sport."

Frentzen finished in sixth position for his Arrows team to score the second point of the season after his sixth place in Spain, and he is predicting more top-six finishes for the Leafield-based squad.

"I think our car is very competitive," he added. "We have made progress in testing and I think generally we look more competitive for the next races."
