Coulthard Not Impressed by 'Banger Racing'

David Coulthard has insisted he can take a surprising victory at the San Marino Grand Prix this weekend - if there is another first corner dust-up.
The McLaren driver believes another first-lap clash between World Champion Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya's Williams could give him and his McLaren team a chance of success at Imola.
"In our present situation if they are banging into each other and taking away points then that does help us," said Coulthard, who was fourh quickest in today's practice session for the San Marino Grand Prix.
But Coulthard is not impressed by the tough battle being played out between his two rivals. And he blasted the pair - who have smashed into each other in the last two races - for turning Formula One into banger racing.
"I can't say I particularly take any pleasure in seeing other people getting involved in wheel to wheel banging - that is not really what it is about," he added. "You know, it's about drivers and car absolutely on the limit, clean manoeuvres and winning like that.
"You don't go into races with the hope that people running into each other is going to give you a result.
"If you enjoy that sort of thing you probably enjoy banger racing where it is almost expected that there will be contact. It's not just Michael and Montoya - there's Rubens and Ralf and they are in good cars as well."
