Button Confident of BAR Reliability

Briton Jenson Button said he was distraught by his failure to finish the last race in the United States and insisted his BAR-Honda team will not suffer the same problem again.

Briton Jenson Button said he was distraught by his failure to finish the last race in the United States and insisted his BAR-Honda team will not suffer the same problem again.

Button was happy with his car but he suffered a disastrous race and a gearbox problem saw him post his first retirement of the season after finishing in the points in all of the preceding eight races.

He is determined to forget the disappointment for this weekend's French Grand Prix, however, and expects the Magny-Cours track to allow him to return to the podium for the seventh time this season.

"The whole team were really disappointed (by the United States race) because it was the first mechanical failure for us and so all round it wasn't a great weekend considering but it definitely won't happen again," said Button.

"It was very frustrating, very disappointing, because the car was awesome - I've never driven a better car. But the start wasn't very good and it didn't turn out well from the word go."

Button failed to finish at Magny-Cours last year but has finished sixth and eighth in his last appearances in France and expects to better those results with a strong performance this weekend.

"We should be strong here," said Button. "This is a circuit where you a rear limited and you have to be careful because you get a lot of oversteer whatever your set-up. But we don't suffer from that as much as other teams."
