Barrichello Hopes Canada Will be Turning Point

Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello has been left disappointed by his failure to deny teammate Michael Schumacher one of his six victories this season.

Barrichello has helped Ferrari achieve four one-two results this year and he has five podiums in total, but the Brazilian is unhappy at his failure to challenge six-time World Champion Schumacher for race wins.

Barrichello is hoping this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix will be the turning point of his season.

"I should have won at least some of the races," said Barrichello. "I think the team is doing a superb job but Michael has won six Grands Prix so there are mixed emotions there (for me). It is the best start of my career in terms of points but I had a lack of time in the car before the season and I have been missing something in terms of strategy.

"I am looking for some better races, beginning in Canada."

Barrichello has been outqualified in all seven Grands Prix this season handing the advantage to Schumacher, who has largely opted for a three-stop strategy to the two-stop race adopted by his teammate.

"Being different gives you a chance to be better or worse," Barrichello said. "Michael had a fast race from the start in the Nurburgring so I could not beat him but it almost happened in Barcelona. My priority is qualifying because I have not been doing that well in terms of everything.

"I have been putting in good laps with what I had but I need to improve strategy and set-up and pray for pole position. It is a long Championship and I think lots of things will happen. I have had some pretty good races and some did not work so well because of qualifying. But I am pushing as hard as I can."
