Barrichello Enjoying New Approach

Australian Grand Prix pole man Rubens Barrichello believes his new approach to Formula One is already helping him take the fight to Ferrari favourite Schumacher.

Australian Grand Prix pole man Rubens Barrichello believes his new approach to Formula One is already helping him take the fight to Ferrari favourite Schumacher.

After admitting he is a number two to four-time champion Schumacher at the team, the Brazilian reiterated his decision to "stop crying" and enjoy things.

"It's a tough life just to be number two to Michael," he said. "There are a lot of questions involving him and sometimes you are not happy because of a small thing and it becomes a big thing in the press.

"So I just said this year I'm not going to bother anymore. I just said I will stop crying, if that's what I was doing, and just get on with my job and enjoy it.

Barrichello began the year calling for his Italian team to give him more backing and declared that he was out to beat Schumacher this season. He has, in the past, been forced to play second fiddle to the World Champion, but his new philosophy is now giving him more pleasure.

"At the end of the day we have to remember why I do this," said Barrichello. "It's because I love it."
