Barrichello Delighted with Strong Season

Japanese Grand Prix winner Rubens Barrichello claimed helping Ferrari to the constructors' title this year has given him more satisfaction that any other achievement in Formula One.

Japanese Grand Prix winner Rubens Barrichello claimed helping Ferrari to the constructors' title this year has given him more satisfaction that any other achievement in Formula One.

The Brazilian took victory at Suzuka to ensure a fifth successive teams' title for Ferrari and also help teammate Michael Schumacher to secure a record-breaking sixth Drivers' Championship.

For Barrichello it was his fourth Constructors' Championship with Ferrari and after a season-long battle with rivals Williams-BMW and McLaren-Mercedes he is taking more pleasure in this title than any other.

"I am proud of what I have achieved this year," said Barrichello, who took more victories last year as he finished runner-up in the drivers' standings to Schumacher. "Even though I didn't achieve as many points as last year or the position that I finished last year I think it has been a much better year for me, much more competitive.

"I have been on top all the time and I think I have made a step up. That was really good and so the team did a fantastic job to provide both cars with the reliability and the performance they had.

"My engineers and my mechanics have all been very good and I think everybody has to be proud of the achievement. It is four years in a row that I am part of the team that has won a lot."

Barrichello ended this year with his seventh career victory which elevated him to fourth in the Drivers' Championship ahead of Williams-BMW's Ralf Schumacher and Renault's Fernando Alonso.
