Barcelona day 2 am: Pizzonia goes top

Antonio Pizzonia returned to the top of the timesheets at Barcelona this morning (Wednesday), lapping almost two seconds faster than his best time from yesterday

However, Pizzonia's Jaguar team-mate Mark Webber has failed to take to the circuit again this morning, as his mechanics continued to work on his car. The Australian managed only two laps all day yesterday, and failed to set a representative time.

Ferrari test-driver Luca Badoer set a best time just fractions shy of Pizzonia's, with Toyota driver Olivier Panis setting the third fastest time. Cristiano da Matta continued to acclimatise himself to Formula 1, setting a best time over two seconds slower than Panis' best.

The session was briefly halted when BAR tester Anthony Davidson spun off the circuit.

Antonio Pizzonia Jaguar M 1m17.956s
Luca Badoer Ferrari B 1m17.978
Olivier Panis Toyota M 1m18.751s
Anthony Davidson BAR-Honda B 1m20.231s
Cristiano da Matta Toyota M 1m21.115s
