Ferrari Plan to Debut F2003-GA at San Marino GP

Ferrari general manager Jean Todt said today that the Italian squad plan to use their 2002 car in the opening races of the 2003 season while the new machine unveiled today undergoes tests.

"It is Ferrari's intention to start with the 2002 car until after the first few races, probably at Imola, depending on tests and results," said Todt at the launch of the F2003-GA in Maranello.

Imola will hold the San Marino Grand Prix, the fourth round of the Championship, on April 20.

World Champions Ferrari unveiled their new car and declared it the best and most beautiful vehicle they have ever produced. The car is named the F2003-GA in honour of the former FIAT president Gianni Agnelli who died last month and is the successor to the formidable F2002 which was beaten just once last season.

The Italian outfit started last season with their car from the 2001 season before introducing the dominant F2002 at the Brazilian Grand Prix, the third round of the Championship.
