Jordan Confirm Ford Deal

The Jordan Grand Prix team have secured a three-year deal to run Cosworth-built, Ford-badged engines in 2003, team boss Eddie Jordan revealed at the Hungaroring on Sunday.

The Jordan Grand Prix team have secured a three-year deal to run Cosworth-built, Ford-badged engines in 2003, team boss Eddie Jordan revealed at the Hungaroring on Sunday.

The team have ended their three-year partnership with Honda one year early and will now have "major sponsorship tie-ups" with Ford, who will bring their trademark blue oval back to Formula One next year.

"Late last night we finally got the signatures on the contract," said Jordan. "Today we are very proud that Jordan and Ford and Cosworth will be working together for the next three years or so. It's a very big day for Jordan.

"It is also great news for Formula One: it will be Jordan-Ford, and the blue oval will be back and this gives Jordan better security in terms of longevity."

Jordan's announcement confirmed long-time rumours that the team would join forces with Ford and the team boss revealed the deal, which had been worked on since February this year, was secured some time before this year's French Grand Prix in June.
