Newey Plays Down Future Victory Hopes

Newey admitted that the only remaining circuit left to run this season that McLaren can 'realistically' claim a victory at is the Hungaroring.
He said that McLaren had expected the Monte Carlo race to suit their package but claimed that Michael Schumacher was still quicker in the race and backed the German to return to winning ways.
"Realistically the only other race we have got a chance of winning this year is Hungary, unless it is a lucky win," Newey said. "We had hoped this would be a good race for us because it suits the overall package of the car, but we didn't come here expecting to win at all.
"This circuit is the least power dependant circuit of all and I think the car was competitive. We proved ourselves to be the quickest of the Michelin runners although Michael, in truth, was a fair bit quicker in the race. But any circuit with long straights we haven't got much chance on."
