BMW-Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya is aiming for victory in the San Marino Grand Prix to wipe out the memory of the moment he was denied victory in Brazil.
BMW-Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya is aiming for victory in the San Marino Grand Prix to wipe out the memory of the moment he was denied victory in Brazil.
Colombian Montoya, making his debut in Formula One this season, is already planning on landing his first victory at Imola this weekend.
"My overall feeling is good," said Montoya, who crashed out in the Brazilian event after Jos Verstappen's Arrows ran into the back of him. "Imola should be a good track for us.
"After the performance in Brazil I think we definitely proved what we can do and I am looking forward to giving it another go in Imola.
"I'll try to win the race."
Montoya has performed impressively in the opening three races of the season, despite never having raced on the circuits before. Now he is looking forward to getting back to Imola, where he competed in Formula 3000 in 1998.
"Unlike the other circuits this season, I have raced in San Marino before in F3000 although my race only lasted about five laps before I crashed out."
