BAR to Co-Operate in Albert Park Investigation

British American Racing have agreed to co-operate fully with an investigation into Sunday's fatal crash involving their driver Jacques Villeneuve and Williams' Ralf Schumacher.

A race marshal was killed and seven spectators injured when debris from the high-speed crash flew into the crowd on lap 5 of the Grand Prix.

Craig Pollock, managing director of Villeneuve's BAR team has pledged their full support to the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) in the investigation into the incident.

Drivers Villeneuve and Olivier Panis refrained from commenting on the incident and Pollock said the team will make no comment until the investigation results are complete.

"On behalf of Jacques, the British American Racing team and myself I would like to express our sincere condolences to his family," said Pollock. "Rest assured that we intend to co-operate fully with the investigation.

"At this time our thoughts and prayers are of course only with the family of the marshal who has died."

All of the injured spectators were checked over at the medical centre at the Albert Park track and released with minor cuts and bruises.
