Williams Duo on Top at Barcelona - Day Two

The Williams team dominated the second day of testing at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya, with Australian Mark Webber finishing on top of the times.

Despite suffering mechanical problems during the session, Webber finished over three tenths ahead of German Nick Heidfeld, who took over from Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia at the wheel of the second BMW-powered machine.

"A technical problem with the suspension put an early end to the day's schedule," explained Tim Newton, Williams test team manager. "The guys at the factory are currently investigating the problem, as soon as they have rectified the situation we will be back on track."

World Champion Michael Schumacher, who in his return to work on Tuesday topped the timesheets, was third fastest today after covering a massive 125 laps of the Spanish circuit with his F2004 car.

The German driver finished ahead of Italian Jarno Trulli in the first of the Toyotas.

While Trulli had a productive session and covered a Grand Prix distance with the new TF105, teammate Ralf Schumacher finished at the bottom of the times for the second consecutive day after only 22 laps. Ralf was over two seconds slower than Trulli.

The Red Bull team had three drivers on track, with Italian Vitantonio Liuzzi outpacing Scot David Coulthard and Christian Klien. The Austrian driver joined the test today after missing the first day of work.

Testing at Barcelona resumes tomorrow.
