Williams Clarify Ralf's Hospital Discharge
Ralf Schumacher will remain under doctors' supervision at his home in Austria, the Williams team said today, following suggestions that the German may have left hospital earlier than advised.
Ralf Schumacher will remain under doctors' supervision at his home in Austria, the Williams team said today, following suggestions that the German may have left hospital earlier than advised.
Schumacher was admitted to the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, Italy, yesterday evening after crashing heavily at the Monza circuit. He left the hospital this morning and headed straight to his home in Austria, however a hospital spokesman said earlier today the German driver left the hospital earlier than advised by the staff.
"Ralf Schumacher has returned home to Austria to rest," a Williams spokesman told Atlas F1.
"As the standard San Raffaele hospital policy requires admissions to be observed for 24 hours, Ralf as a protocol was obliged to discharge himself before leaving the hospital this morning.
"Ralf's medical observation will, however, be continued by doctors at home in Austria.
"The BMW WilliamsF1 Team would like to extend their thanks to the San Raffaele Hosptial in Milan for their professionalism and assistance in this matter."
