Wilson, who made his Grand Prix debut in Australia in March, will replace struggling Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia for the rest of the season and will make his Jaguar debut at the German Grand Prix next weekend.
"He will have a seat fitting at 8:30 tomorrow morning," said his manager, former Formula One driver Jonathan Palmer. "This is a major endorsement of his talent and a great chance to have a competitive car and show what he can do."
The deal came about during the British Grand Prix weekend after Jaguar bosses decided they needed to replace Pizzonia to help continue their rise up the World Championship table.
Wilson will now partner Australian Mark Webber, his former rival when he won the Formula 3000 championship in 2001, for the remaining five races of the year and has options to stay with the team for 2004.
