Ste Devote is taken in second gear. It's pretty much a 90-degree corner, where you need good traction on the exit, because from there it's uphill. For me the most amazing part of the circuit is up the hill to Casino Square, because you hit around 290kph with a blind corner to follow. The wheels sometimes come off the ground. You can have a little bit of oversteer on the way in, and then it's blind again. The turn in comes from experience, not from what you see!

You then have the second part of the Casino Square, still in third gear, then fourth, down to Mirabeau. You have that bump that you have to try and avoid, as you have to make sure that the wheels aren't off the ground as you brake for the next part. If you get it right you can really, really have a good time.

Then it's down to Loews, which is a first-gear corner: very, very slow. You have a lot of traction problems on the way out. Just before the tunnel you have two right-handers, taken in second gear. Both corners are quite tricky. Traction into the tunnel is so important. It's a short straight where you can gain a lot of time.

It's flat through the tunnel, and quite busy as you come out because the cars are bouncing all over the place. Braking into the chicane is quite narrow and quite bumpy. It's slow and slippery and one of the parts of the track where you really have to pay attention. It's first gear, very slow, and again traction is everything out of the chicane.

The next one is Tabac. It's quite enjoyable, taken in third or fourth gear, depending on the gear ratios. It's a quick corner for Monaco. You have no space for error; you're doing about 160kph. Then you have the Swimming Pool. It used to be much more dangerous, and now we just have the kerbs it's a lot easier. It's not a blind corner any more, and you can run on the kerbs instead of hitting the wall.

You have to throw the car through the second part of the swimming pool, using all the kerbs. Then it's onto Rascasse, the last part of the circuit. It's one wheel spinning all the time. Then it's onto the last corner, where you have to carry a lot of speed to get a good run down to Ste Devote for another lap.
