Ralf hopeful of podium finish
Ralf Schumacher claims Toyota are strong enough to fight for the podium in tomorrow's Japanese Grand Prix, despite speculation that the team are light on fuel
Schumacher qualified in third position for his team's home Grand Prix, with teammate Jarno Trulli completing a strong day for the Japanese squad by posting the fourth fastest time.
It was their best qualifying effort of the season, and Schumacher reckons they have a real chance of fighting for the top three tomorrow.
"It was a great achievement for the whole team," said Schumacher. "After the last two races we needed to show where we were.
"We knew from the races before that we knew the laptime was there but we needed to show it. With the help of Bridgestone we showed that we have a good car.
"It is difficult to tell (how competitive he'll be in the race). We have to wait and see where we are tomorrow. If we have a good tyre, we have a good car, then we could be heading for a podium."
Schumacher has finished on the podium only once this year, at the Australian Grand Prix.
