Happy Barrichello enjoys wet qualifying

Rubens Barrichello welcomed the rain in qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix after equalling his best qualifying performance of the season

The Honda driver took advantage of the wet track to finish in third position, just behind the two Renaults of Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella.

Barrichello, who recovered from a spin in the second part of qualifying, set the exact same time as teammate Jenson Button, who will start from fourth after setting the time later than the Brazilian.

"That is very impressive," said Barrichello of him and Button having the same time. "I had a spin in Q2 and recovered from that, that pumped me up so much.

"As Fernando and Giancarlo said turn one was so difficult, it was impossible to push and when I spun I lost the car and the gravel stopped me to a point so I was on the grass with the engine running.

"Into Q3 it was all plus from there, the car was working fine and hopefully we have a good strategy for tomorrow.

"I could see that we were faster than some of the guys so it was quite good, like Fernando said, it is up and down. I love the wet and everyone knows it comes my way. I won races in the wet, but if it is a dry race then it is safer."
