Schumacher Not Making Predictions
World Champion Michael Schumacher is refusing to make any predictions ahead of the two consecutive races in Canada and the United States
"I prefer to skip that one", said Schumacher ahead of this weekend's race in Montreal, the eighth round of the 2005 season.
"Lately, I have not made very accurate predictions. I will be going to Montreal and there, with the team, will be doing the best that we can," the Ferrari driver added.
Schumacher has not finished on the podium since the San Marino Grand Prix in April and is currently lying in eighth place in the Championship, 43 points behind Renault's Fernando Alonso.
The seven-time World Champion has won in Montreal for the past three years and a massive seven times in total, but after struggling for pace so far he is approaching the race with caution.
"First of all we have to wait for free practice on Friday and only then will we have a clearer idea of how things stand," he said. "There are many teams who have worked hard and so I would prefer to wait before evaluating the situation.
"What is certain is that we will be fighting right down to the last."
