Eye problem hits Trulli
Toyota ace Jarno Trulli has been forced to shorten his testing programme in Spain this week because of a bizarre eye problem that forced him to make a trip to hospital
The Italian, who had been due to complete the Cologne-based team's testing programme in Jerez with Ralf Schumacher joining BMW for its end of season awards ceremony, complained of a pain in the eye on Wednesday night.
With him suffering quite badly, Trulli decided to go to hospital and was referred to an eye specialist - who discovered that a tiny shard of metal had become lodged in his right eye.
Trulli needed a minor operation to remove it and, although unable to drive, he was fit enough to visit the track late on Thursday - fitted with a very eye-catching Toyota-branded eye patch.
He returned to the track on Friday, where Schumacher finished off his week's testing, and vowed to be back behind the wheel on Saturday.
"Everything is okay and I am just taking it easy," said Trulli, who no longer needs his eye patch.
