Button pledges future to BAR
BAR-Honda Formula 1 ace Jenson Button says he is going nowhere at the end of the season, despite recent comments from senior staff at Williams that he his high on their shortlist to replace Juan Pablo Montoya in 2005
In an interview in British tabloid the Sunday Mirror, Button says he is flattered by the interest, but he is happy to stay with BAR.
"People keep going on about the Williams drive and they are obviously an excellent team," said Button. "They gave me my first chance in F1, but I have had no contact with them and I'm genuinely not looking to leaving BAR.
"Of course, the World Championship is my ambition. But I want to do it with a team I have helped build. We are building something here, and we hope to be challenging for the title next year. If we do achieve that, it will mean far more to me than if I had walked straight into a team that guaranteed me a winning car."
