Verstappen not done yet
Dutch Formula 1 veteran Jos Verstappen has vowed to return to grand prix racing, despite not finding a seat for the start of the 2004 season
Verstappen's last hope was with Jordan, but the British team decided it could not reach a deal with his sponsor, computer firm Trust, and signed Italy's Giorgio Pantano instead.
"For the time being I will focus my efforts on Formula 1," said Verstappen on his website. "It won't surprise me if some seats become available during the season. Well, they know that I am on the bench with a nice sponsor package on offer."
Talking about Jordan's decision not to take him on, Verstappen said: "I am very disappointed, but I can see possibilities. I have to see if all drivers can make the grade. Each season we see changes within teams. I have to be ready: I am focused, physically fit, ready to get in a car and go fast. My sponsors are eager to return.
"We want the world of Formula 1 to know that we haven't said goodbye. There is a driver available with talent, experience and a financial attractive package. All team owners know that. The season hasn't started and definitely hasn't finished yet!"
