Ferrari not expecting British 'team effort'

Although Ferrari and Michael Schumacher in particular are traditionally strong at Suzuka, the Williams team is in with a strong chance of snatching the crown from Ferrari if their car/tyre package is as strong at Suzuka as it has been at other circuits over the final races of the season.

McLaren boss Ron Dennis and Frank Williams are close friends, something Ron was only too happy to talk about at Indianapolis a fortnight ago, but it is a bit too far-fetched to suspect that they will collaborate against Ferrari in Japan, especially given the FIA stance on team orders. On top of that, would Mercedes realistically help BMW to beat them to the constructors' title? Even if they don't agree with the Ferrari/Bridgestone tyre stance...

Rubens Barrichello said: "I don't believe it for a minute, to be honest. It's always difficult to make things work between two drivers, so to do something that worked with four drivers would be such a big confusion that it wouldn't be good for any of them. I don't think they'll get together to minimize our chances."
