Ferrari equals McLaren record

Michael Schumacher scored an emphatic 60th Grand Prix win at Silverstone, making it 12 British Grand Prix wins for Ferrari, equalling McLaren's record

Schumacher admitted that he was unsure on tyre choice during the rain-affected race and paid tribute to technical director Ross Brawn, who made the call for him.

"I haven't finished first so often at Silverstone and it's also my 60th win," Schumacher explained. "We weren't expecting the rain though and although the car handled really well, we never really had consistent conditions. I struggled a little bit in the wet but the Bridgestone intermediates were good in both the almost-dry and the wet.

"We have worked very hard with them to achieve that and the whole car/tyre package worked well. The real question was when to use what tyre.

"I have to say, I wasn't really sure, so I must thank Ross for making the decisions for me and making the right ones. The conditions were really very tricky, especially as the tyres started to wear out in the dry."
