'We can only throw it away' says Brawn

The Maranello technical director believes the only way it can fail to win both world titles for the second year running is if it throws it away itself. But Brawn says its massive lead in both the drivers' and the constructors' championship does not mean there is any less pressure on the team.

The Italian marque currently heads the constructors' title by 52 points, while reigning world champion Michael Schumacher heads David Coulthard by a near-unassailable 37 points in the drivers' standings.

"It is a delicate time for us because we have got a substantial lead in both championships and really we can only throw it away now," said Brawn, who helped mastermind Ferrari's double triumph in both titles last year.

"Whatever David does, if we do a sensible job, it will be very difficult for him. But we are a little bit anxious to make sure we do everything correctly and do it the way we know we can do it. It is an old adage, but to standstill is to go backwards in this business.

"We have a new high downforce package for Hungary and we have a new aerodynamics package for Spa," he added. "We might have a new engine for the race this weekend as well.

"Everyone at Ferrari is working exactly the same way as they have done over the last five years because it is the only way we know how to work.

"We are also working on next year's car, as are all the teams, but that doesn't mean we have made any presumptions about this year yet."
