Spanish GP: GP Predictor players tip Fernando Alonso for win
Fernando Alonso is the overwhelming favourite to win the Spanish Grand Prix, according to players of the Castrol EDGE Grand Prix predictor
The Chinese Grand Prix winner is fourth in the standings following his early retirement in Malaysia and DRS issues last time out in Bahrain.
He is still considered the most likely to deliver with 40 per cent of players reckoning he will win at Barcelona - eight per cent more than tip world champion Sebastian Vettel.
Kimi Raikkonen is third favourite with 18 per cent.
Castrol EDGE GPP expert Timo Glock believes that the change in tyre compounds this weekend could play into the hands of Red Bull though.
"The Red Bull is aerodynamically exceptional and this is an important factor especially in Barcelona," he said.
"Also the hard compound Pirelli has changed this weekend. This could mean that Red Bull can now fully exploit the strengths of the car.
"So far, Seb and Mark [Webber] sometimes had to cruise to keep the tyres in condition. From now on, it might be easier for them."
