Those soft tyres are a bit like that drunk uncle at a party - they're unpredictable and nobody wants to go near them.
Sainz is also on hards, according to our timing screens.
In terms of tyres: Verstappen, Vettel, Kvyat and Raikkonen begin on hards. The rest? Mediums.
Here we go then, just a couple of minutes until the drivers begin the not-British GP.
Wolff and Brown have a quick chat in the pitlane - ex-Formula Ford racer Brown presumably asking about taking Hamilton's seat for next season.
On an unrelated note, how many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh? Ten tickles.

10 minute klaxon!
Ricciardo could be a factor too, having looked very quick on the hard tyre this weekend. That's also the compound Verstappen will be starting on, as everyone will probably be avoiding the softs like the plague.
All eyes will be on the two Mercedes at the front, as Hamilton aims to get past Bottas into a difficult opening set of corners. And what can Hulkenberg and Verstappen do?
Conditions were a bit muggy at Silverstone earlier but, as things hot up, the tyres are going to be a big factor in today's race. Should be an exciting one.

Before we get rolling, here's today's top stories:
- Racing Point had received Mercedes' brake ducts as testing spares
- Lawrence Stroll will "take all necessary actions" to prove Racing Point's innocence
- Ocon says today's race will be "a war"
- Williams can get "points on merit" if it closes midfield gap

We've just watched the most stunning MotoGP race, and if F1 can be just a smidgen as good as that, we're in for a corker.
Good afternoon everyone! It's just 25 minutes until we get underway for the F1 70th Anniversary GP - so get yourself a cool drink, plonk yourself on your favourite spot on the sofa, and get ready for all the action.
