That's swiftly trumped by Leclerc, who sets a 1m31.085s.
That's a bit more like it. Nine cars are out on track now, with Vandoorne one of those still out there and on a flying lap.
"No power," reports Vandoorne over the radio. He's told not to worry by his team and wait for the temperature to drop a bit.

"We wanted a slow out-lap anyway," comes a follow-up message.
This is going to be a very easy session report (to write, at least) as things stand.
While we wait for someone to get us going, a little bit of AOB for you.

Grosjean's Haas team-mate Kevin Magnussen was also involved in a spot of bother in FP1 for allegedly blocking Fernando Alonso on track. Magnussen was summoned to the stewards, but no action has been taken.
FP2 is coming up in around 10 minutes' time. The scorched grass is still a big giveaway at Silverstone - it's hot, hot, hot and blue skies are the order of the afternoon.

Verstappen is climbing out, having pulled up alongside the pit wall.
Alonso's time off the theoretical back row is short-lived, thanks to Honda-powered Hartley moving back ahead of him.
Gasly has been complaining about his car on the straights, and he's asked his team 'what's happening?'. Toro Rosso reckons a change of wind direction - a regular topic of conversation at Silverstone - is to blame.
The Mercedes looks stable and well planted through Abbey. It’s not easy but if the driver gets it right, the car responds well.
Top 10 with 10 minutes to go in FP1: Hamilton, Bottas, Vettel, Ricciardo, Raikkonen, Verstappen, Grosjean, Perez, Ocon, Stroll.
Alonso finds nine seconds next time around, but that was clearly a lap to sort himself out as he's still 4.3s off the pace and at the bottom of the pile.
Alonso stays out, and finally appears on the timing screen a cool 13 seconds off the pace. 15 minutes to go for him to get a proper time in the bag.
Alonso has been off at Becketts after a high-speed moment, so that's another lap ruined.
