Lap 52: Buemi - now ninth - is some 11 seconds behind that fight between Rosberg and Alguersuari, but has pulled four seconds clear of di Resta.
Lap 51: Hamilton fends off Webber's latest closing move over the line with his superior traction out onto the long back straight.
Lap 51: Rosberg in seventh is now able to hold off the charge from Alguersuari. The gap remains constant at around 1.1 seconds.
Lap 51: Alonso is now homing in on Button's gearbox and is told to use the full performance of his Ferrari engine.
Lap 50: Webber sets the fastest lap as he continues to pile the pressure on Hamilton in the fight for second.
Lap 50: Down in 13th, Senna has lost some time in his fight against Perez. This allows Barrichello to close up on the Renault.
Lap 50: Five laps remain in Korea, with the focus on an incredible scrap for best-of-the-rest behind runaway leader Vettel.
Lap 50: Replays show that he got a good DRS-induced tow down the long straight to sweep past the Scot.
Lap 49: Buemi is through and takes ninth place away from di Resta.
Lap 49: Buemi posts the fastest first sector of all and closes to just 0.5s behind di Resta. The Swiss will surely have a go for ninth soon.
Lap 49: Meanwhile, Alonso is now 1.8 seconds behind an intriguing scrap in the closing stages.
Lap 49: Button will surely see the speed of his team-mate on DRS and be eyeing his own move on Webber's Red Bull.
Lap 48: But Hamilton has the DRS and straight-line speed, taking his second place back down into Turn 3.
Lap 48: Twelve seconds behind the Rosberg-Alguersuari fight, di Resta also posts a personal best and keeps Buemi at bay.
Lap 48: Traffic for Hamiton and Webber dives past into Turn 1.
Lap 48: Button is now putting some pressure on Webber's tail, surely to the relief of team-mate Hamilton ahead.
Lap 48: Alguersuari in eighth posts his fastest lap of the race so far and closes to exactly one second behind Rosberg.
Lap 48: Alonso may have spent the best of the rubber in that chase of the train ahead, with his closing speed fading in recent laps.
Lap 47: Webber continues to get a great run through the final corner but can't get off Turn 2 as well as the McLaren.
Lap 47: So we have Rosberg in seventh 1.2s ahead of Alguersuari, then di Resta now 1.4s ahead of Buemi and in 12th Perez is 1.4s clear of Senna.
Lap 47: Webber ends up side-by-side at the apex of Turn 3 but Hamilton pulls away out of the corner to hold second place for now.
Lap 46: Another fight is brewing on track, this time for ninth place. Buemi is closing down di Resta, who is losing pace for the third time in this race.
Lap 46: Vettel is a comfortable 11.7 seconds clear of the developing scrap behind him.
Lap 45: Hamilton continues to fend off Webber, just, with 10 laps remaining in Korea.
Lap 45: Meantime, Alguersuari is three-tenths quicker than Rosberg on the last lap and the gap is down to one second.
Lap 45: Alonso's pace is incredible at this phase, surely leading to questions over why he remained boxed behind his team-mate earlier on.
Lap 45: Bruno Senna is beginning to catch up to Perez. The gap between them is down to 1.5s as they fight for 12th.
Lap 44: Meanwhile, Alonso continues to close in and is clocked just three seconds behind the second-third-fourth place battle.
Lap 44: Rosberg and Alguersuari are some 11 seconds clear of di Resta in ninth, with Buemi 10th, Sutil 11th, Perez 12th and Senna in 13th.
Lap 44: Button is told his tyres are good to the flag and is sent to chase down Webber.
Lap 44: Hamilton gets a snap of overseer as he hits the throttle and KERS as hard as he can, keeping the gap into Turn 3 despite Webber's DRS.
Lap 44: Alguersuari is driving as hard as he can to try and close down Rosberg's seventh place, but the gap is static at around 1.4 seconds.
Lap 43: Webber is much closer this time after a mistake for Hamilton in the final part of the lap.
Lap 43: Kobayashi pits from 15th place and that will promote the recently stopped Kovalainen.
Lap 43: Red Bull is on course to secure the constructors' title if the order remains, which may mean cautionary words to Webber from the pitwall.
Lap 43: Glock loses three-tenths of his 2.4s advantage over the Australian but keeps track position.
Lap 42: Glock and Ricciardo pit together in a straight fight for 18th place.
Lap 42: Rosberg is reminded to drive as tactically as possible to fend off a potential threat from Alguersuari over the closing laps.
Lap 42: Alonso closes to 4.9 seconds behind Button as he demonstrates remarkable race pace in the Ferrari.
