The pitlane is now closed. Any driver not on the grid by now will have to start from the pit exit, once the field has taken the lights.
The Ferrari pair finally take up position on the grid after several pit visits to test the team's effective launch system.
The grid is particularly dirty off the racing line, with no support action here to help lay rubber on the start slots.
Meteo France predicts light drops of rain to fall over the next 20 minutes.

Button has taken up his place on the clean side of the grid in third position.
D'Ambrosio passes through the Virgin pitbox for a tweak to his front wing angle.
Weather conditions have mirrored those of yesterday, with a bright, sunny start now being swept aside by a bank of incoming cloud from the East China Sea.

Again, one or two light, drizzly showers lie to the west just off the coast and a few drops of moisture are possible over the next 30 minutes, but we expect a dry race this afternoon, with a maximum air temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

A strong north-westerly breeze is blowing in off the sea and it will remain throughout the race.
Practice starts continue from the end of the pitlane, with drivers getting a measure of grip levels to configure each car's systems.

The pitlane is now open, allowing drivers to join the track and check over the basic functions of their cars before the start of the race.
