Lap 28: Sebastien Buemi is touring back to the pits with a punctured left rear tyre.
Lap 27: All three resume after quick stops, while Alonso presses on with a rapid pace on his current tyres.
Lap 27: It is looking a little darker again above the circuit. A light shower is building to the south-west of the track.
Lap 27: Alonso remains on track for the moment as Ferrari prepare tyres for team-mate Massa.
Lap 27: Di Resta is 16th and will have to charge through the pack just to get some points this afternoon.
Lap 26: Di Resta has dropped way down the field, as his team-mate Sutil comes in.
Lap 26: Problems at Force India and di Resta was left sitting in the pit box with no tyres ready for him.
Lap 26: Alonso is still happy with his current rubber and sets the fastest lap again, closing to 2.5 seconds behind Webber's Red bull.
Lap 26: Maldonado pits from what is now 13th place in the Williams.
Lap 26: Red Bull and Ferrari will now be watching Hamilton's pace very carefully.
Lap 26: Kobayashi has pulled off to the side of the track with a clear case of overheating. He is out of the race.
Lap 25: Soft rubber goes back on the McLaren and Hamilton will be looking to undercut back past Alonso with a rapid lap on his new tyres.
Lap 25: The McLaren team scramble as Hamilton pits for fresh rubber.
Lap 25: Heidfeld is 11th with Alguersuari 12th, Buemi 13th, Maldonado 14th and now Schumacher is on his tail.
Lap 25: Alonso goes for the DRS move into Brooklands and is clear past Hamilton and back into third.
Lap 24: The race-long battle between Rosberg and Perez continues for ninth.. They are four seconds behind the Force India pair.
Lap 24: Alonso is trying all ways to pay back former team-mate Hamilton for that overtake and is all over the McLaren's gearbox.
Lap 24: Kobayashi rejoined in a lowly 18th position after serving his stop-go penalty. He is 12 seconds behind Barrichello and lapping slightly slower than the Brazilian.
Lap 24: Hamilton and Alonso are quicker than the Red Bull pair at the moment and closing in on Webber in particular.
Lap 23: As a reminder, teams are no longer forced to use both dry compounds this afternoon thanks to the earlier use of intermediates.
Lap 23: Schumacher moves to the inside of Petrov as they head into Copse and makes the move stick. The German takes over 15th.
Lap 23: Di Resta is continuing in seventh but has dropped to 14 seconds behind Massa. Sutil is now just 1.1s behind him.
Lap 22: Schumacher has now caught Vitaly Petrov and they are battling over 16th place.
Lap 22: Teams will be rapidly reconsidering their strategy plans - looking to run for as many stints as possible on the faster, soft compound tyres.
Lap 22: He comes in and rejoins further down the field and out of contention for points.
Lap 22: Stop-go penalties are favoured here rather than the standard drive-through, due to the new and very short pitlane.
Lap 21: Kobayashi is handed a 10 second stop-go penalty for an unsafe release as Barrichello was coming in for dry tyres.
Lap 20: Hamilton sets the fastest lap that time around and is closing on the Red Bull pair with some strong race pace in these conditions.
Lap 20: Maldonado makes a good move round the outside of Kobayashi at Stowe, but the Sauber driver doesn't know when he's defeated. He slices back to the inside and retakes 13th into the Vale.
Lap 20: Vettel has responded to Webber and has his advantage back out to 3.1 seconds over his Red Bull team-mate.
Lap 20: Heidfeld makes the move and is through on the Japanese driver. Alguersuari follows him through. They are now 11th and 12th.
Lap 19: Kobayashi is struggling in 11th place on the dry tyres. He has Heidfeld, Alguersuari and Maldonado all nose-to-tail behind him.
Lap 19: Hamilton is battling through traffic and told his pace is "fantastic" as he closes on the Red Bull pair while keeping Alonso at bay.
Lap 18: Schumacher rejoined in 17th position after his penalty. He is 4.4s behind Petrov.
Lap 18: Alonso is getting up to speed now and is back in chase of Hamilton with his own new fastest lap.
Lap 18: Perez lunges at Rosberg at Luffield and gets through ... but Rosberg cuts back inside the Sauber at the exit and retakes 10th.
Lap 17: Hamilton is third, 7.3 seconds off the lead. Alonso is now fourth, with Button closing rapidly on the Ferrari and setting the fastest lap.
Lap 17: Schumacher comes in to serve his 10 second stop-go penalty.
