Lap 29: Alonso is clear of traffic now, having had a fight to put a lap on Senna and Maldonado.
Lap 29: Hamilton sets a new best at 1m44.759s, benefiting from a poor lap by Alonso to go 4.1 seconds clear.
Lap 29: Kobayashi takes over ninth place with di Resta coming back up to speed further down the field.
Lap 28: Di Resta finally comes in for his one stop and rejoins, as Perez similarly comes in.
Lap 28: Traffic time for the Button, Massa, Webber trio at the moment as they work past Trulli's Lotus.
Lap 28: Ricciardo didn't just gain track position to take 20th, but he is some 10 seconds clear of team-mate Liuzzi now.
Lap 28: Hamilton clocks the fastest lap but is then beaten by Alonso. The gap remains just over three seconds between the pair.
Lap 27: Maldonado was too hot leaving the pits and almost made it to the wall in the exit tunnel. He saved the situation and continued.
Lap 27: Webber continues to close on Massa, who has also brought down the gap to Button over recent laps.
Lap 27: Barrichello has made his way past Kovalainen and takes over 14th place.
Lap 27: Glock also comes into the pits for his one and only stop of the race, from 18th place.
Lap 27: Maldonado finally comes into the pits from 12th, leaving di Resta (ninth) as the only driver to to stop this evening.
Lap 26: Liuzzi pits this time round and Ricciardo will surely gain track position over his team-mate and take 20th.
Lap 26: At the back, Ricciardo spent a long time stuck behind team-mate Liuzzi, so he pitted. Liuzzi stayed out and the gap between them is just 16 seconds.
Lap 25: Alonso also struggles to clear that pair, resulting in little change to the lead gap.
Lap 25: Alguersuari is next to force his way past Glock and he moves into 17th.
Lap 25: Hamilton is bulked in traffic at the Turn 17 hairpin as he catches the scrap between Alguersuari and Glock.
Lap 24: Despite Button's KERS problems, Massa has fallen away from the hobbled McLaren and is now two seconds behind with Webber closing in.
Lap 24: Glock is 16th with Senna 17th after that second stop, Alguersuari 18th , Trulli 19th, Liuzzi 20th and Ricciardo 21st.
Lap 24: 3.3 seconds is Hamilton's advantage over Alonso as the pair begin to work through lapped traffic.
Lap 23: Kovalainen is 14th and Lotus clearly did a great job in the pitstop phase, keeping track position over Barrichello in 15th.
Lap 23: Button is now 14 seconds behind team-mate Hamilton as he continues to struggle with a KERS problem in the McLaren.
Lap 23: This leaves Maldonado struggling with tyres in 11th. He has Petrov and Perez eating into a 6.6s buffer very quickly.
Lap 22: Further back, Kobayashi passes the one-stopping Maldonado to take over 10th place.
Lap 22: Schumacher, now clear of the struggling di Resta, is 2.8 seconds behind Sutil and beginning to close on the Force India.
Lap 22: Di Resta later lost out to Schumacher, as Force India looks to go with just one stop for the Scot. He is now in ninth.
Lap 21: Senna pits for the second time from 12th place, as Buemi climbs out of the car and into retirement.
Lap 21: Hamilton has stretched his lead with a strong start to the second stint. He leads by 3.6 seconds from Alonso.
Lap 21: Buemi makes it back to the pits with his faltering Toro Rosso but that will be a long fix to repair the car.
Lap 20: In amongst all the action, di Resta backed off the throttle to let team-mate Sutil through, in order to give him more breathing space against Michael Schumacher.
Lap 20: Buemi had moved up to seventh place in the pitstop phase, but he looks to have a suspension problem as he crabs his way back to the pits.
Lap 19: Sutil has been allowed past di Resta to resume in eighth, with the Scot still running long on hard rubber.
Lap 19: Buemi is in trouble and touring down the back straight as we reach the official sunset time.
Lap 19: Petrov comes in this time round. He is followed down the lane a few seconds later by Barrichello.
Lap 19: Rosberg is back in sixth for Mercedes, with Buemi currently seventh but yet to stop.
Lap 19: Petrov has lost four seconds with an off-track excursion, but he was able to rejoin. He is yet to make a stop in 11th.
Lap 18: Webber has been demoted to fifth by that poor stop and is clocked 5.4 seconds behind Massa on the road.
Lap 18: But critically, Force India has gained track position over Michael Schumacher.
Lap 18: That means Hamilton leads once again, chased by Alonso. Button is some distance behind and now chased by Massa in his Ferrari.
