Sort by
8 min: Vettel tops the times by some margin from Webber, Alonso, Kubica, Petrov, Hamilton and Massa.
7 min: Schumacher and Rosberg are now on timed laps. Rosberg goes eighth with 1m21.296s.
7 min: Button puts himself back in the top ten as he improves to eighth.
7 min: Hulkenberg improves to eighth spot but Barrichello comes round in 1m21.331s to take that position away.
6 min: Button is only ninth quickest after the first run and the world champion could be in danger here.
6 min: Vettel is flying in the Red Bull. He is on the super-soft tyres ... and posts 1m19.573s. Even Webber is six-tenths back now in second place.
6 min: Massa is still struggling in his Ferrari and falls in behind Hamilton in seventh.
5 min: Petrov stays fourth as he clocks a 1m21.156s.
5 min: Rosberg is now on the circuit. Schumacher is the last man on track.
5 min: Hamilton slots in fifth quickest with a 1m21.221s.
4 min: Alonso improves to a 1m20.893s but that's over a second off the dominant form of Vettel.
4 min: Vettel beats Webber's time to top the list with 1m19.866s.

3 min: It wasn't a great lap for Massa as he fights with the Ferrari but a 1m21.417s is the early time to beat.
1 min: Replays show that Kamui Kobayashi failed to stop at the red light for a weight check. Sauber may face a penalty later.
1 min: Massa begins his first timed lap, while most of the field pile out of the pits.
1 min: It was of course in this Q2 segment last year when Massa had that horrible impact with a spring from Barrichello's Brawn.
1 min: Buemi and Alguersuari head out in the Toro Rossos.
0 min: Felipe Massa is the first man out with hard tyres on the Ferrari.
0 min: The battle to make the top 10 is underway.
The 17 drivers that have made it through to the second phase now have 15 minutes to try and get to the top ten positions.
So after a troubled morning Force India gets both cars into Q2. Liuzzi finished 12th and Sutil scraped through in 17th place.
Kobayashi's final effort to move out of 18th place was ruined by traffic. Bruno Senna was also on a final effort and there may be a difference of opinion later between the two.
McLaren will be very worried to see the likes of Kubica's Renault and Rosberg's Mercedes ahead of its pair on the timesheet.
The first period of qualifying has been completed. The following seven drivers have been eliminated:

Up front, Red Bull had no problem topping that segment with Vettel ahead of team-mate Webber.
Glock takes the new teams battle for Virgin on his last lap with 1m24.050s to take 19th on the grid.
The flag is out on Q1, with Kobayashi looking like the 18th-place victim.
Kobayashi is now 18th ... and he pits. The drama for for the elimination spots and the Japanese fails to progress.
20 min: Button escapes the drop with a 1m21.422s to go up to seventh. A close shave for the world champion.
19 min: Schumacher improves to 12th place with 1m21.840s and has a 0.5s buffer to the 18th placed driver, who is now Button!
19 min: Hamilton clocks a 1m21.455s, which is now seventh as Rosberg moves up to fourth.
19 min: Schumacher posts a 29.4s first sector and that is slower than all those ahead of him! He could be in trouble here ...
18 min: Button is slipping down the order and is now a dangerous 17th. He fails to improve!
