1 min: Hamilton piles out of the pits and the championship leader again needs a special lap to avoid being swamped by the Renault pair and Rosberg.
1 min: Few would bet against Red Bull coming out on top of this, but which one? Both drivers have been impressive this weekend.
0 min: So these are the ten drivers who will contest the shootout for the best places on tomorrow's grid:

Lewis Hamilton
Nico Rosberg
Sebastian Vettel
Mark Webber
Nico Hulkenberg
Fernando Alonso
Felipe Massa
Vitaly Petrov
Robert Kubica
Pedro de la Rosa.
0 min: Alonso is the first out with soft tyres on the Ferrari.
0 min: The battle for top grid position is underway in Hungary.
Schumacher failed to make the cut-off point by four-tenths and will again start a race from outside the top ten. Rosberg has out-qualified Schumacher by almost one second.
He will, however, have an open choice of strategy starting from 11th and may try a long first stint.
The 2009 champion will spend tomorrow in heavy traffic in the early stages of the race.
The McLaren clearly isn't working well around here and once again Button finds himself out of the top ten.
Hamilton's margin of safety in eighth place was a comfortable four-tenths of a second in the end, but it's a bad day for team-mate Button.
The second period of qualifying has been completed. The following seven drivers have been eliminated:

11) Button
12) Barrichello
13) Sutil
14) Schumacher
15) Buemi
16) Liuzzi
17) Alguersuari.
Webber topped Q2 from Vettel, Alonso, Petrov, Rosberg, Massa, Kubica, Hamilton, de la Rosa and Hulkenberg.
Barrichello suffered a scrappy final attempt and was unable to improve. He dropped down the list to 12th place, while Hulkenberg progresses.
De la Rosa also produced a stunning effort in the final stages to demote Button out of 10th. The world champion is also out!
Kubica also comes over the line faster than Hamilton and it is going from bad to worse for McLaren.
Schumacher comes through to complete his last lap ... and stays in 14th position. Schumacher is out!
Schumacher only does a 29.4s first sector. He has almost no chance of making it through now.
Rosberg adds to McLaren's headache by taking fourth as the flag comes out.
15 min: Hulkenberg is doing a great job so far in the first two sectors. He moves up to eighth with 1m21.275s.
15 min: Button is down in ninth and in danger with a 1m27 on his first tour with softs.
14 min: Hamilton fails to improve and remains behind the Renaults in sixth.
14 min: Hulkenberg manages a solid 29.1s first sector. He needs to keep this up to the end of the lap.
14 min: Webber takes advantage to top the order in 1m19.531s on super-softs.
13 min: Hulkenberg makes a big error in the middle sector and has blown his latest lap. He remains 11th and the first driver in the dropzone.
13 min: Vettel's time was 1m20.069s but that's well off his harder tyre run.
13 min: Vettel sets a very quick first sector and is only a fraction off his previous best in the middle part of the lap.
13 min: Everyone is out except Schumacher. He leaves the pits now and will be the last man on a fast lap.
12 min: Alguersuari goes 16th above Buemi, but the Swiss hits back and moves up from 17th to 15th and also gets the better of Liuzzi.
11 min: Alonso looks to have some speed on the softs with the quickest first sector.
11 min: All 15 cars will be in this late scramble, so traffic is likely to cause some grumbles.
10 min: Vettel does feel the need to try the softs ahead of Q3.
10 min: The Toro Rosso drivers show their hand early and are on super-soft laps in an attempt to move up the order.
10 min: Alonso is already out on soft rubber, which is a useful sighter ahead of Q3 even though it uses up a valuable set of tyres.
10 min: Hulkenberg, de la Rosa, Sutil, Schumacher, Liuzzi, Alguersuari and Buemi are in dropzone positions 11th to 17th.
9 min: Vettel is surely safely though with that 1m19.573s and may opt out of a run on super-softs to save the quicker tyres for the race.
9 min: Behind Massa, Rosberg is eighth with Button ninth and Barrichello 10th, Hulkenberg 11th and de la Rosa 12th.
8 min: Schumacher is only 14th after his first effort with 1m21.828s.
